BEST - Building Entrepreneurship capacity for women’s in SET
The aim of this project is to promote European strategies for local development setting facilitating conditions to enhance women’s entrepreneurship in SET, -Science, Engineering ad Technology-, through the analyse, comparison, reflexion and production of models of intervention and best practices, based on the involvement, consultation, discussion and agreement of local agents in the economic, administration and educational grounds.
The general objectives will be:
- To increase women’s capacity for entrepreneurship in SET through local development policies among universities and local agents and to enhance the sustainability and growth of the local enterprises created by these women.
- To prospect potentials to take a higher profit from endogenous local resources in terms of women’s professional capital/wealth, knowledge, expertise and skills at local level, offering good chances and conditions for success in entrepreneurship activity in the local environment.
- To promote the generation of a European approach for cooperative and creative synergies among economic, social, technological and educational local agents under a gender prism, that can favour the processes of innovation and adaptation of the local economy and business activity.
The activities foreseen:
- Initial research to explore the potentialities of women entrepreneurs in SET at local level. Space for improvement of conditions and support
- Organisation of thematic networks and workshops at local level. These networks will be created and animated at local level on one of the following issues to explore and describe the situation / potential improvements. Corporate methology provided. Workshops will be organised among key agents to get in depth discussion reflexion on these issues. Reports on these activities will be delivered.
- Thematic Forums at European level. These forums will be organised at the occasion of the second steering committee to exchange, compare, learn and improve proposals from a European perspective.
- Elaboration of final publication summarising project results
- Final conference for dissemination, networking and valorisation
